City Football Manager is a strategy game, where your role is the manager. Here you become a manager of the football team of your city. You play against teams that are managed from the other managers in the game. They are other people, like you, or bots (for the teams that do not have a manager).

The games are played automatically on a server according to the schedule. The game is based on a simulator which plays the game taking into account the team strategy and the individual qualities of each player.

The championship in each country is divided in 4 divisions. At the end of the season the first 3 teams from Division 2, 3 and 4 will be promoted to a higher division and the last 3 teams from divisions 1, 2 and 3 will be relegated to a lower league.

Each country also has a tournament to win the national cup. All teams in the country participate in that tournament. It is played on the principle of elimination.
The best teams from each country will participate in 2 international tournaments:
- Cup of Cups - the finalists of the national cups will participate here.
- Cup of Champions - To play this tournament, you must finish in the first 2 places of the top division in your country.

As you win games and cups you win fans which buy tickets for your games. You can improve the stadium, so more fans can attend your matches and thus you will grow the income of your team.

You can buy and sell players, coaches and physios in section "Transfers".

If you prefer to develop young talents, you can build and upgrade the academy. It will generate 3 young players at the end of each season.

The fitness, training grounds and the theory center help for better workouts of the players and the physio center helps for their faster recovery.

In the training section you can assign which players to participate in the training sessions. To select specific training types, you will need a coach. Coaches of higher level are more efficient and the players which they coach will raise their skills faster. Be careful and monitor the condition of your players. Over-training can lead to exhaustion, which leads to injuries and poor performance. A good physio and high level of the physio center are the best way to help your players recover faster.

Can I chat with other managers?

- Yes. We have a telegram group where everyone is welcome. You can join from the telegram button on the left, or using the link:

Can I play offline (without internet)?

- No. This is a multiplayer game and all data is saved and handled on a remote server, so an internet connection is mandatory.

When does a season start/end?

- A season ends with the final game of the Cup Of Champions. One day later the new season is generated.

Why did I lose to a weaker club?

- This is the game of football. Upsets happen all the time, but in the long run the best clubs win the championships.

3d game view?

- The games are played on a server and only visualized with comments and statistics. This is how we can deliver a light-weight game(".apk" download is only MB).

The translation to language “X” has mistakes.

- We welcome all feedback and give small prize in coins to managers who contribute.

Ads are not available.

- Possible reasons:
1. Sometimes advertisers don’t serve ads for some users.
2. You got a screen about cookies consent and you declined.
3. You opted out of advertiser id from your device/account settings.

What is the “sponsors” section in Finances?

- "sponsors" transactions are cash injections from the Home->Store.

On some devices “Slow internet connection” appears even if the connection is OK.

- Try to minimize and restore the game.

I don't receive the notifications

1. In the game go to Profile -> Settings and enable the notifications that you want to receive.
   
2. On your Android device go to app settings:
   City Football Manager -> Notifications: Make sure notifications are enabled for the app.

Can I transfer my account to my new device?

- Yes.
1. If you registered with Google Games your manager is linked to your account.
2. If you registered as a guest, you can link your account: in the profile of your manager there is a button "Sign In" (if instead you see a button "Feedback" there - you are already linked). This will link your profile to your Google Games account.
On your next device you can setup the same Google Games account and you will keep your progress in the game.

What is the server number in my profile?

- It is the server on which you are playing. Each server is like a virtual world which contains countries, clubs and managers. You can only see the managers and clubs on the same server.

How many servers are there?

- Right now they are , but the number increases over time as new players join the game.

Can I register multiple accounts on the same server?

- No, because of possible collusion and gaining of an unfair advantage. Strictly forbidden is abusing the transfers to move the coins(or good players) to one club. We have banned several players for attempting to cheat. All bans are permanent.

Are accounts removed?

- Yes. Accounts are removed for 2 reasons:
1. Inactivity for a long period of time(usually 90 days or 10 days after uninstalling the game).
2. Attempting to cheat(very few cases, but happens).

Can I rename my manager?

- Yes, but only once. To request a new name, send us a message using the Feedback button. In the message say that you want to change the name of the manager and give us the new name in “quotes”.

Can I move to another club?

- Yes, but only once. To request a move, send us a message using the Feedback button. In the message say that you want to move to another club, give us the name of the new club and its division.

Can I rename my club?

- No. The idea of the game is that you manage the football club of your city. For this reason we don’t allow renaming of the club and this is the same for all players.

How to win fans for the club?

Matches for the championship/national cup/Cup of Contenders:

Matches for the Cup of Cups:

Matches for the Cup of Champions:

Upon reaching 10K fans, the bonus percentages gradually decrease. This applies to all percentage increases below.

What is the meaning of the players' positions?

GK = Goalkeeper
SW = Sweeper/Last in Defense
D = Defender
DM = Defensive Midfielder
M = Midfielder
AM = Attacking Midfielder
ST = Striker/Attacking Player

L = Left; C = Center; R = Right;

Examples:
- DL = Defender Left
- AMC = Attacking Midfielder Center

In Strategy->Formation you can see the positions on the field. Players perform best when the position from their profile matches the position on the field.

How many players can my club have?

- Minimum 14, Maximum 30. When you reach 30 players you cannot buy new players and you will not get new players from the academy.

Retirement of players

- When a player reaches 34 years of age he may decide to retire. The chance that a player retires at 34 is 10%. The probability increases every year, reaching 100% at the age of 45.

Retirement of staffers

- When a staffer reaches 60 years of age he may decide to retire. The chance that a staffer retires at 60 is 5%. The probability increases every year, reaching 100% at the age of 70.

How many players do I get from the academy?

- 3

When will the academy give me young talents?

- At the first day of the next season. If your team already has the maximum number of players (30) you will not get new players from the academy.

How players improve their skills?

- Players improve their skills by both: training and playing games. See section “Training” below for more information.

How can I avoid injuries of my players?

- Just like in real life you can never guarantee if or when a player will get an injury. You can reduce the probability of an injury if you keep your players well rested. A more tired player is more likely to get an injury during training and during a game.

The team has a practice at the end of each day.

With no coach you can only assign free training. In free training players improve a random skill. 1 coach/physio can work with 3 players.

Higher coach level means faster improvement. The same is true for the level of the fitness center, theory center and training ground.
With different level of coaches you can choose more specific workouts:
Coach level 3 unlocks “Specialized Training”.
Coach level 5 unlocks “Targeted Training”. This allows the manager to select up to 6 individual skills to be trained.

The physio helps for faster recovery of the condition of the players. The higher the level of the physio and physio center the faster the recovery.

Make sure to monitor the condition of the players. Exhaustion may lead to worse performance and increases the risk of injuries.

I have no coaches/physios.

- You can buy coaches and physios from the "Transfers" screen, just like you would buy a player.
In the top of the screen you can filter the transfer list to only display coaches.

Does the physio and physio center help with recovery when the player is resting?

- Yes.

Does the player get more tired when training with a coach of higher level?

- No.

If a player is injured will a physio help to recover quicker?

- No. The physiotherapist only assists in faster recovery from fatigue and does not help with injuries.

Do I get coins for winning the championship(or lower divisions)?

- No. Winning any division increases the number of fans which will bring more income for your home games.

Promotion to a higher division

- To move to a higher division you need to finish in the top 3 of your current division.

Relegation to a lower division

- The last 3 teams of division 1,2,3 are moved to a lower division for the next season.

- In order of importance:

1. Points

4. Number of Wins

Single Game Elimination Rule

- If there is no winner after 90 minutes, the game is decided with penalties.

Home/Away Swap Rule

- Two games are played with teams alternating between home and away matches. If the score is tied after the two games, the teams will play an extra time of 15+15 minutes. If the score remains tied, the winner will be determined by a penalty shootout.

Cup Finals Rule

- The winner of a cup is determined through a single match. If there is no winner after 90 minutes, the teams will play an additional 15+15 minutes of extra time. If the score remains tied, the winner will be determined by a penalty shootout.

National Cup

- First Preliminary Round: All clubs from league with level 3 play one game against clubs from league with level 4. The teams from level 4 will be the hosts. The winner is decided by the Single Game Elimination rule.

- Second Preliminary Round: All clubs from league with level 2 play 1 game against the winners from the First Preliminary Round. The winner is decided by the Single Game Elimination rule.

- Third Preliminary Round: The participants are the 20 winners from preliminary round 2. 4 teams will be randomly chosen to continue to the Round of 16. The other 16 teams play by the Single Game Elimination rule.

- Round of 32: The participants are:
- the 4 selected teams
- the 8 winners from the 3rd preliminary round

- the 20 teams from 1st division
The winner is decided by the Home/Away Swap Rule.

- Round of 16 .. Round of 4 are played by the Home/Away Swap Rule.

- Finals: The winner is decided by the Cup Finals rule.

Cup of Champions

- To participate you must finish 1st or 2nd in division 1 of your country.

- All rounds, except the finals, are played by the Home/Away Swap Rule.

- Finals: The winner is decided by the Cup Finals rule.

Cup of Contenders

- To participate, you must finish 3rd or 4th in the first division of your country.

- All rounds, except the finals, are played under the home-and-away swap rule.

- Final: The winner is determined by the Cup Finals rule.

Cup of Cups

- To participate you must play in the finals of the national cup for your country.

- All rounds, except the finals, are played by the Home/Away Swap Rule.

- Finals: The winner is decided by the Cup Finals rule.

Friendly matches are matches where players mutually agree to play each other via Home -> Friendly. These matches are not competitive in nature and serve as a way to try out new strategies. As a result, certain special rules apply.

Organization of friendly matches

To set up a friendly match, go to Home -> Friendly and review the available offers. Click on the offer to view the details and choose to accept, decline or cancel it. To suggest a game to another manager, go to the "Create" tab:

1. On the left, choose whether this will be a single game or exchanged visits games to simulate a tournament round.
2. Choose an opponent. Clubs without managers will not accept offers.
3. Select a date and time for the matches.

Rules for organizing friendly matches

• The friendly match must be scheduled at least 30 minutes in advance.
• The offer can be accepted or canceled up to 15 minutes before the start of the match.
• A match cannot be scheduled at a time when another match is already scheduled.
• A club can participate in a maximum of 4 matches in one day, including both tournaments and friendlies.
• To prevent abuse, some managers can only arrange away games exchanged between themselves.

Rules during friendly matches

• To reduce the risk of injury, tackling aggression is set to "Low" regardless of team instructions.
• Tempo and all other instructions are applied exactly as set by the manager.
• Player fatigue works like other matches.
• Players will not receive yellow or red cards during friendly matches.
• If a player is suspended due to yellow or red cards, the missed friendly match will not affect his suspension.
• Statistics from friendly matches do not contribute to the overall statistics of players or managers, including matches played, wins/draws/losses, ratings, goals scored, etc.
• The number of fans attending a friendly match is 1/3 of the normal number.
